What is Wrong with this Picture?

Well everyone...its time for my monthly rant.  And for today's rant, we are going to play a little game called "What's Wrong with this Picture?"  So without further adieu take a look at a serious problem I have within my house:

So did you figure it out?  Practically every lighting fixture in the main part of the house is askew.  It is ridiculous!

So my question to the builder/architect/electrician is why, Why, WHY do you insist on sticking the light in the center of the room without accounting for furniture placement and walkways?  Why?

Seriously??? And this has not been the first house that this has been a problem either (although it has been by far the worst).  <sigh>

I hate to be sexist but I feel fairly confident that if a female would have been the one to design the lighting placement, she would know to not just stick the light arbitrarily in the center of the room.  Geez!

Unfortunately for me, the only light we have moved to date is the dining room light....the others have been on the "need to do" list since we moved in, but I doubt it will get accomplished anytime soon.  Apparently, this is not something that bothers my Hubby.

As a matter of fact, I think the only reason the dining room light got moved (about 2 months ago) is because I mentioned it on a daily basis...the man had no choice but to move it.  Now Hubby...do you really want to go through that again?  :-)  Actually, this is not a difficult project (assuming the ceiling beams aren't in your way) and I could probably do it myself but nah....I rather just be a nag.

Okay folks...what about you...is this an issue in your home too?  Or do you have something else going on in your house that bothers you?  Do share.
