Fantasy Wedding

My little doodle is getting married!  I know this blog is supposed to be about my adventures in decorating but we have a very serious event coming up and I think it would be amiss if I didn't mention it.  Besides, weddings and decor are related ... right? :-)

Michael and Melissa will be getting married in June...I can't wait.  I love Melissa for she is truly the best thing that has ever happened to my Michael.  She has been very sweet in trying to include me in her wedding plans, but unfortunately being 500 miles away sort of puts a damper on how much I can truly assist.  Total bummer.

Soooo...since I am basically missing out on all of the fun, I thought it would be amusing to plan out and show you what my fantasy wedding would look like --if I were to walk down the aisle today.  I have never been inclined to do this in the past, but once again I think it is fair to blame pinterest for this sudden desire to create a fantasy event. Damn you pinterest...no wonder my Hubby is annoyed by you!  BAHAHAHA

Anyway, my wedding would be peacock inspired.  I have no idea why all of a sudden I am obsessed with peacock feathers but I am -- I just love, love, love them--so I will include, include, include them.  I would hold this event at about 8pm on a New Years Eve (don't judge--this is my fantasy not yours), so I think it would be appropriate to go with black and gold as my colors.

Ohh-la-la, this dress is a dream and perfect for my special day (also please note:  since this is a figment of my imagination,  I look just as good as the model does in this dress.  Yea!)

I am soooo in love with dress...I found it on pinterest but don't know the original source....so I don't know what the front looks like but if its anything like the back....WOW.  This, my friends, is peacock inspired!

A princess tiara is a must!

The bridesmaids and the groom/groomsmen will wear something simple, yet elegant such as this.....The bouquet and boutonniere pictured are perfect too.

This grand affair will take place in none other, than a beautiful old castle...one that is on an island somewhere like this one:

I have no idea where this is really located by the way...but lets pretend its on a tropical island....not just some random island off the coast of Europe....I don't want it to be cold on my day.

Oh, I should also mention that I will arrive to this affair in a horse drawn buggy...but I am sure that was a given to anyone who is still with me at this point.

The reception will feature the finest foods, elegant black and gold decor, lots and lots of twinkling lights, sophisticated centerpieces (that include peacock feathers no doubt) and a wedding cake that feeds at least 500.

I tried to find a picture of a wedding cake I liked..and there are tons out there...but none were just perfect:  so picture a four or five white layer cake, alternating square and round layers, with the icing design alternating as well...like maybe black scrolls on the round parts and something else on the square layers.  I would also have each layer lined with a black ribbon and a single peacock feather.  I am not sure what kind of topper I would like...hmmm I will have to ponder that one.

Oh, and before I forget...I would walk down the aisle to a harp and someone cool like Keith Urban would play at the reception.  :-)

Well....what do you think?  I will tell you one thing, I have spent at least half of the day looking up wedding stuff and I am exhausted...I need a nap but that would be just a fantasy too...I promised Hubby I would mop the floors today.  Boo.

So what about you? What would your fantasy day look like?
